More about me.

My passions, travels, and hobbies.

From New Jersey to Colorado.

Moving cross-country in 2019 was an adventure of a lifetime. It was difficult to leave friends, a dance studio of 12 years, and family. But I gained new friends, a new dance community, leadership opportunities, and a great program that I love in computer science technology. Colorado has so much to offer with its beautiful mountains, trails, and 300 days of sunshine.

My family is a blend of cultures and personalities. I am fortunate to be very close to my family. My mother was abandoned on a Church doorstep in Vietnam and has helped us appreciate how important family is. We love to travel, ski, hike, camp, bike, host parties, play games, and laugh.

My Family.

My Mother is my hero. She has taught me how important it is to work hard, be humble and stay curious. She started and sold a marketing-technology company in NYC and showed me how persistence and passion can help you achieve your dreams. She is the artistic side of our family as she loves to bake, paint, and create DIY projects.

My father is our rock. He is one of the most well-read people I know. He taught me to know my facts, fight for what I believe in, and stay true to my core values. He always told us to “Not be helpless”, which means we don’t wait for someone else to do something if we can do it ourselves. He showed us how important it is to have a sense of humor and not take yourself too seriously.

My sister Keira is an incredible dancer and artist, better than me. She is proof that hard work gets you ahead. She is in dance classes with students 4+ years older. Her competitive nature makes it fun to watch her in perform.

My brother Travis is kind, funny, and smart. He wants to be an actor so he works to entertain and make us laugh. He reminds me how important it is to be a kid once in a while.

My Dancing.

I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and competitively dancing since I was 8. The dance studio became my second home. For some years I danced 20+ hours a week while maintaining straight A’s. My dance teachers were more than just dance instructors, they taught me some important life lessons. I always had to bring my A-game or would be asked to leave the room. If we did not give 100% we were being disrespectful to our classmates. I understood that winning was only part of the reason we competed. We learned how to overcome mistakes and that you win as a team and you lose as a team. I worked hard mentally and physically every day and gained the confidence to perform in front of hundreds of people.

My Team.

So proud to be part of the Erie HS Tiger Poms Dance Team. We have cried together, laughed together, lost together, and won together - but most importantly we all work as a team and I am grateful for this. Some of my favorite moments were when we won Regionals and The State Championship Title! It is the first time in history our team won The State Championship. In 2022 our HS Football team made it to the State Championship and we cheered and performed at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium where the Broncos play. I am honored to be selected as the team’s Captain for two consecutive years 2021-22 and 2022-23.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Cheering on our HS Football Team as they played for the State Championship. Performing at halftime in the Broncos’ Stadium. I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life.

My Travels.

On top of the world.

One of my favorite trips was to Yosemite. We went hiking which gave us the chance to see El Capitan, Bridal Falls and the Half Dome. It was incredible to see the views.

Travel with adventure.

Our family loves to ski. We also love hiking and doing activities that increase our adrenaline! We went to New Mexico this summer and had a chance to ride UTVs, go white-water rafting, and brave a very intense ropes course with some “trust” jumps and a very large high-moving swing.

Travel with family.

My cousins live in New Jersey, Illinois, Florida, and Maryland. We travel with them often or visit their hometowns. This fall we traveled with them to Anna Maria Island, Florida.

My Baking.

Baking is a great way to fulfill my creative needs while making others happy. With Pinterest, it is so easy to recreate professional bakers’ creations.

Winter Wonderland.

What better time to bake than the holidays. I loved creating this one as the trees were so fun to create and eat. The inside was made to look like a candy cake with red and white strips.

Hoppy Birthday.

My sister loves frogs so this lily pad frog cake brought a smile to her face. We all enjoyed this four-layer alternating chocolate and vanilla cake.

Score Big.

My entire family is Pittsburgh Steeler’s fans and for my brother’s 7th birthday I created this football field cake. Fondant looks amazing but is not easy. But, I am always up for a good challenge.

My Artwork.

My Grandmother is an art teacher, which is why art is such an important part of our lives. We have an entire room dedicated to arts and crafts and we all love to spend time creating projects together. We all wish we had more time for art because I know how important it is to be creative.

Hopes and dreams.

Using colored pencils we were asked to create a drawing from our minds that represent our hopes and dreams. For me, this meant bringing all types of people together and the rainbow represents happiness. That type of joy brings freedom, the birds flying.

Mouthwatering.

I was in the Gifted & Talented Art classes in middle school. This piece was created using cray-pas oil pastels. Simple assignment but I loved using real fruit as our subject.
