Get Involved
My college career is more than studying hard and achieving good grades. I have grown my leadership skills during my time at Erie High School and continue to look for ways to get involved in leadership and entrepreneurial programs. I am well-rounded because of my involvement in the honors program, student government, campus volunteering, and dance, I am still employed at the Erie Township Recreation Center and work during college breaks. I continue to volunteer on campus and fundraising for local and national organizations.

Work and Volunteer Experience
February 2023: Erie HS Education Foundation Fundraising Event - As a student advisor I helped set up and work the Annual Fundraising event, which included serving food and cleaning up. I was asked to speak at this year’s event to encourage local businesses to sponsor a scholarship or make a donation.
February 2023: Coins for Cancer Fundraiser - As a director of the National Honor Society I helped organize this fundraiser. This includes social media promotion and coordination of efforts with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Coins for Erie HS National Honor Society is hosting a fundraising competition to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
September 2022 - Current: Erie Booster Club Volunteer - As a volunteer, we work to raise money for the Erie HS Booster Club. This includes working one night a month at Bingo setting up the event, selling Bingo cards, collecting money, and cleaning up.
July 2022: Future Medical Leaders Medical Student Intern, Hue, Vietnam - Invited to participate in the Future Docs Aboard Program for students interested in having a career in the medical field. I worked for 2+ weeks assisting in the Hue, Vietnam hospital clinic and witnessing surgeries and medical procedures. I participated in 14 medical rotations including oncology, radiology, anesthesiology, OB/GYN, and family medicine. Seeing a C-Section and witnessing a baby being brought into the world is life-changing. I will forever cherish this experience as I am half Vietnamese and was able to learn more about their culture, my heritage, and my mother’s birthplace.
June 2022 - Present: Erie Community Recreation Center Employee - As an employee of the Town of Erie, I went through a rigorous interview and screening process to obtain this job. I work as the front desk greeter, checking people in for the fitness center and classes and opening the center at 4:45 am. I also work at the concession stands prepping and serving food during sporting events. My third role is as a daycare attendant. I am responsible for up to 10 children while parents and guardians use the recreation center facility. What started as a summer role I have been invited to stay on during the school year. I love the diversity of the role and that I have a chance to work with great people and customers.
2021 - Present: Highlands Elementary PTO Volunteer - Participated as a volunteer at PTO events throughout the year. We decorated the sidewalks with chalk designs for the first day of school. We also set up hundreds of luminary bags that were decorated by elementary and middle school students for a Hope & Gratitude Night.
2022 - Present: Free Dance Clinics Coordinator and Instructor - Hosted and taught at 3 dance clinics for local students between 5th and 9th grade. I created the promotional flyers, and coordinated attendees, the dance space, and the curriculum. I plan to continue to host these throughout the year as we had an amazing turnout.
Summer 2021: Intern Colorado School of Mines - Selected as one of seven students out of 92 applicants to be part of their summer internship program. I was also one of only two high school students to be chosen, all others were college students. I taught computer science and coding classes at their youth summer camps for underserved communities as well as worked on relevant STEM research projects.
Summer 2020: Vesta, LLC. Summer Intern - Working with the sales and marketing team to build out mock community demos. Also assisted in gathering prospects for sales targeting.
Summer 2018: FATHOM for Change Volunteer - Organization to help bring resources and workers to underserved communities globally. Rather than donate money this company brings volunteers to actually do the work. We helped teach locals how to use resources to make money, as well as taught English and built homes and water sources. My work was in the Dominican Republic for two weeks. This life-changing experience helped me realize how important community service is to me. I plan to bring more community service to my school through Link Leaders and Student Government.
2017 - 2019: St. Mary’s Food Pantry Volunteer - I worked as a stock room employee as well as a cashier at a local food kitchen. I volunteered weekly to help organize donations as well as distribute products to those in need.
